Project Context
SOVA is an established workforce and security-operations product from SOVA Systems, built around a mobile app for field users and a web administration platform for managers. Webnyxa joined as an engineering partner on an existing product rather than building the complete platform from scratch.
Webnyxa’s work has spanned Android application enhancement, web administration and operational modules, backend API and data-layer improvements, role-based access work, performance optimization, QA coordination, and ongoing product support as new field-operations requirements are introduced.
The Challenge
Field operations across hospitality and security sites involve constantly moving people, vehicles, assets, visitors, and incidents. Without connected mobile and administrative tools, organizations rely on paper records or disconnected systems. SOVA needed continued engineering support to strengthen Android field workflows, NFC and location-aware interactions, operational modules, API reliability, access control, and administrative visibility across distributed teams.
Platform Architecture
SOVA pairs an Android application for field users with a React-based web administration experience, connected through backend services and REST APIs. Laravel and PHP power selected operational and administrative modules with MySQL persistence. Node.js supports real-time security-event streaming where Ably WebSockets are used. Field activity is synchronized with the backend so administrators can monitor the latest available operational information through the web platform.
NFC, Location, and Geofencing
NFC checkpoint scans provide a recorded indication that a configured checkpoint was reached using an authorized device and account. They confirm that a configured tag was scanned; they do not by themselves prove a person’s identity or that every related physical activity was completed.
Webnyxa’s Android work included NFC-related improvements, geofencing-supported login and logout flows, and vehicle tracking and patrol workflows. The broader SOVA product also supports Bluetooth beacons as checkpoint options alongside NFC. Location and geofencing help indicate presence, coverage, and movement for supported workflows, while map and monitoring views present the latest synchronized field activity available to administrators.

Synchronization and Operational Visibility
Field activity is synchronized with the backend so administrators can monitor the latest available operational information through the web dashboard. Selected security events use WebSocket-based streaming for lower-latency delivery where that path is active.
Like many field applications, connectivity can vary on site. The product includes support for provisional login in poor Wi-Fi conditions when enabled. Synchronization and monitoring language on this page therefore focuses on the latest available operational data rather than assuming uninterrupted live connectivity for every field action.

SOVA processes operational information that can include employee identities, location data, incidents, media, visitor records, and related site activity. Webnyxa’s confirmed work in this area includes:
